Poster Presentation

“Research is seeing what everybody else has seen and thinking what nobody else has thought." The art of Poster Presentation helps to visually depict the scientific approach on almost any and every theme. Participants will present a poster designed originally by them adhering to the topic Discovery, Novelty and Aspirations in the field of microbiology.

1. The poster is to be 1M×1M with bold text that could be read from a distance of 30 meters. However, there can be flexibility in font size so as to fit the necessary information.
2. The maximum number of members allowed in a single team is 4.
3. There will be a question answer session for every poster by the judges of the event.
4. The subject of the poster must be either an original work or a review paper.
5. The poster will be judged on the novelty of the topic and the importance of its application in the field of biology.
6. The registration fee for each member in a single team is Rs. 600 ( A team comprising of 4 members need to pay Rs. 600 per member).
7. The registration needs to be done by the team leader ONLY. Separate registrations for multiple team members is not required.
8. The Google form for registration is provided on the website. Only after the registration is complete and the registration fees has been successfully paid, can the abstracts be uploaded.
9. Lunch will be provided at the venue of the competition.
10. Last date for the registration in 21st August, 2023.

Photography

Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still. With this philosophy in mind we present to you our new event for this year. Participants will be submitting pictures on the topic that will be declared a week before the registration dates. The theme remains broadly Biology They will be judged on the uniqueness of the picture, adherence to theme and relevance to the topic.

Process of online registration:

1. You have to register as a solo participant.
2. You can register with your details in the google form link provided above.
3. After we receive your registration details we will add you to a WhatsApp group where you will be provided a link to the google drive that will allow you to upload your photo(s). Only Jpeg and jpg format is acceptable.
4. Multiple entries will be accepted provided they abide by the Theme (related to Biology. Specific theme to be announced later).
5. The photographs will be posted online on the MTIM Instagram handle.
6. The free online registrations for participation in the competition will tentatively close by 21th August, 2023.
7. Participants are welcome to the college premises on the day of the event to attend the exhibition and the programme.

Interested participants may avail food packets from the MTIM committee on payment of ₹150/- prior to the day of the event. (Details to be provided later)

Rules for the competition:

1. Mobile photography will be accepted.
2. Basic editing, including colour enhancement, the use of filters, and cropping of the Photo(s) is acceptable, provided any such editing does not affect the authenticity and/or genuineness of the Photo(s).
3. Advanced editing used to create illusions, deceptions and/or manipulations, and the adding and removing of significant elements within the frame is prohibited.
4. You are required to provide a unique name and a description for every photo submitted.
5. The results of the competition will be based on the number of likes on Instagram as well as judgement on the day of the event.
6. Plagiarism or display of any kind of vulgarity may lead to cancellation of entries.

Quiz

To be or not to be might be the question, but for this quiz, the questions will ring and revolve around your love for Biology. A classic Quiz with three rounds where 8 teams will fight it out till one remains in the end, proving again Darwin's laws of Natural Selection.

BASIC RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Only team entries are allowed and each team shall consist of three members. There is no limit of teams from a single institution.
2. The decision of the Quiz-master will be final and will not be subjected to any change.
3. The participants shall not be allowed to use mobile phones or other electronic devices during the competition.
4. Audience/Supporters will not be allowed to give any hints or clues to the competitors, and such cases will lead to immediate disqualification.
5. Replacement of any participant of a team is not allowed after registration.
6. Cross departmental registrations are allowed for the same college.
7. The Quiz will be based broadly on BIOLOGY.
8. Last date for the registration in 21st August, 2023.

There will be three rounds in the quiz competition:

• Preliminary round or elimination round
• Semi finale
• Finale

PRELIMINARY ROUND:

• This round will take place on an online platform through a google form prior to the main event which will be informed later.
• The google form will consist of 20 questions.
• 6 minutes will be given for answering the questions and no extra time will be provided.
• Only top 10 teams will be selected for the next round which will take place on the main event day.

SEMI- FINALE AND FINALE

• Both of this rounds will take place on the main event day.
• The ten teams qualifying for the semi-finale will have to pay a registration fee of rupees 500 after which they will be added to a WhatsApp group for conveying further instructions. They will be provided food packets and drinking water on the main event day.
• Only 5 teams will quality for the Finale.
